Our firm, Tkalec AG was founded in 1977 in Vienna. After a long period of  preparation, our first auction of Ancient Coins took place in the year 1985. Even this first auction made the same statement as all the following ones: Quality!

The founder of the company, Anton Tkalec, has been engaged in Ancient Coins since the late 1950s. He chooses very rare coins if they meet his very high standards of conservation and style. In the course of the last years, he was able to increase this very high standard. 

Because of this high standard, auctions could not be held every year but only when sufficient high grade material was assembled.
Unfortunately, it is too difficult to point out the many highlights from these past sales.

As the international impact of the company grew over the years, its location was relocated to Zurich, where the auctions continued.

The catalogs of Tkalec AG have become an important reference for the collector for its high degree of numismatic and historical excellence. They also giva a glimpse into the art of ancient coinage at the same level as other related fields of art, such as sculpture, painting and architecture.
